Happy Monday and God’s Blessings,
“Better to Be in God’s House”
"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."
—Psalm 84:10
Beloved in Christ, the psalmist's words remind us that a single day in God's presence is far greater than a thousand days spent in the comforts and luxuries of this world. No amount of earthly pleasure can compare to the fulfillment we experience in the house of God.
The French phrase joie de vivre,- meaning "joy of living" or "exuberance of life," captures the essence of living with a cheerful enjoyment that comes from dwelling in the presence of God. This deep, abiding joy transcends the fleeting pleasures of life, allowing us to appreciate and treasure even the simplest moments. As followers of Christ, joy becomes an inevitable expression of our faith, especially amidst the challenges and uncertainties of life. Joy is reflected in our demeanor—our steps are lighter, our smiles brighter—despite the circumstances around us.
Yet, too often we trade the courts of the Lord for the attractions of the world. We settle for things that ultimately leave us feeling empty, when God is calling us to something greater.
I urge you today—do not neglect the house of God. Do not choose the temporary over the eternal. If the psalmist declared that he would rather serve in God's house than dwell in the tents of the wicked, how much more should we desire His presence?
A doorkeeper in God's house may stand at the entrance, but at least he is in the house. He is near the glory. He is where God is. Even the humblest place in God's presence is far better than the comforts of the world outside.
The world may offer comfort, but it is temporary and will not endure. The tents of the world may seem appealing, but they are destined to collapse. The only truly safe and blessed place is in the presence of the Lord.
So, I encourage you today—return to His house. Embrace His presence. Long for His courts more than anything else, for one day with Him is worth more than a lifetime without Him.
Amen!
You are Blessed! You are a Winner! Enjoy the Week Ahead!
